Frequently Asked Questions
When and where do you meet?
While we do not have a date for our first service at the new building (formerly Zoo City and Mansour’s), we will be using the offices there for administrative work, meetings, counseling, etc. In the meantime, our Sunday morning worship gathering starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Old Mountain Hill Schoolhouse in Harris County. Click here for directions.
What can I expect on Sunday mornings?
Our Sunday morning service focuses on Jesus Christ as we read the Bible, hear preaching from it, and respond in song. We want to create an “unreligious” environment where people, whether long-time Christians or first-time churchgoers, respond authentically to God.
How should I dress on Sunday mornings?
Don’t feel obligated to dress a certain way. We worship Jesus in ties or jeans. Dress as you prefer!
Is there anything for my children?
CrossPointe is a great place for kids! We have a nursery for children ages birth to three years old where your child will be cared for by people who love babies and toddlers. For the four- and five-year-olds CrossPointe offers a preschool ministry that will care for and point your children to Jesus Christ in an age-appropriate way. For the elementary-aged kids (1st through 5th grade), Kids’ Church is a place where your children will learn about God, make lots of friends, and have fun. Click here for more information.
What is the music like?
Music on Sunday mornings is intended as a response to our great God. On a typical Sunday, the band might play a recent song or older hymn with guitars, drums, and piano.
How do I become a member of CrossPointe?
For those who want to learn more about CrossPointe, we host three to four gatherings each year of coffee and information. We also offer membership classes twice a year. The membership process involves three classes taught on consecutive Sundays. After you’ve completed the membership classes, you may join the church on one of our membership Sundays, when we’ll introduce you to the rest of the church. It’s a longer process than many churches’, but it’s very important to confirm that CrossPointe’s the right church for you and to explain the type of commitment we expect from members. We announce upcoming membership classes at our Sunday morning service and on this website, but if you’d like more information e-mail us .
Is there a midweek meeting?
We do not meet during the week, but we do have LifePointe groups, which meet regularly to build community within CrossPointe. New groups start every Fall and Spring semester. Click here to learn more about the different groups.
How can I get involved at CrossPointe?
LifePointe groups are the best way to get involved. The groups make getting to know people in the church easier and more authentic. Also, we have several opportunities to serve at CrossPointe such as setting up on Sunday mornings, working in the nursery, or leading Kids’ Church, among other activities. If you’d like more information about ways to serve at CrossPointe and whom to contact, e-mail us .
