Frequently Asked Questions

When and where do you meet?
We meet Sundays at 10:30 a.m. at 2301 Airport Thruway (Suite B) in Columbus, Ga.

What can I expect on Sunday mornings?
Our Sunday morning service focuses on Jesus and his good news as we read the Bible, hear preaching from it and respond in song. We occasionally use responsive readings, traditional creeds and familiar hymns, but we also incorporate more "modern" styles and songs as well. In sum, we love Jesus and want to foster a worshipful environment that points to him, regardless of style or format. Communion is available for individuals every week, but we participate as a church on the first Sunday of every month. As for clothing, we do not have a "dress code," so wear what you like.

Is there anything for my children?
We have a nursery for infants to three-year-olds where your child will be cared for by volunteers from the church. For the four- and five-year-olds CrossPointe offers a preschool ministry that will care for and point your children to Jesus Christ in an age-appropriate way. For the elementary-aged kids (1st through 5th grade), Kids’ Church is a place where your children will learn about God, make lots of friends, and have fun. Click here for more information.

Is there a midweek meeting?
We do not meet regularly during the week, but we do encourage commitment to Community Groups.

What are Community Groups?
Community Groups are small groups (10–15 people) committed to the gospel, community of believers and mission of the church. Groups are long-term by nature though we encourage groups to plant new ones as they grow. Group leaders are trained to lead the group in regularly studying Scripture, shepherding and praying for one another, and reaching neighbors and friends with the gospel. Groups may be joined at any time.

How can I get involved at CrossPointe?
As the previous question suggests, Community Groups are the best way to get involved at CrossPointe. Beyond joining a group, visitors are encouraged to attend CrossPointe faithfully and begin serving as they see the need. Common areas of service are the children’s nursery, Kids’ Church, youth ministry, worship & tech team and various other Sunday morning responsibilities (like greeters and ushers). For more contact information or questions, please e-mail Robert Ward (robert[at]insidecrosspointe[dot]com).

How do I become a member of CrossPointe?
The membership process involves a three-part class called Starting Pointe, which takes place over the course of a weekend. After you’ve completed the class (and subsequent interview with the elders), you may join the church at our next member meeting, when we’ll introduce you to the rest of the church. It’s a longer process than many churches’, but it’s very important to confirm that CrossPointe’s the right church for you and to explain the type of commitment expected from members. We announce upcoming Starting Pointe dates at our Sunday morning service and on this website, but if you’d like more information e-mail Robert Ward (robert[at]insidecrosspointe[dot]com).

Is CrossPointe part of any denomination?
CrossPointe has no denominational affiliation, but for an idea of the theology and church structure CrossPointe’s leadership agrees with, see the following networks and organizations—The Gospel Coalition, Together for the Gospel and 9 Marks.
