No Kids’ Church Sunday
There will not be any Kids’ Church this Sunday, April 10, so that children can worship with their families. The nursery is always available.
One Community Food Drive
CrossPointe is participating in a food drive held by One Community for the needy in Columbus. Please bring fresh eggs and apples (no canned items) to CrossPointe April 19–21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and April 22, 9 a.m. to noon. Also, contact Lincoln Brandenburg (404-372-6382) if you can help with distribution at Valley Rescue Mission on Saturday, April 23.
Sound Journeys Perinatal Hospice
Sound Choices Pregnancy Clinic is starting Sound Journeys Perinatal Hospice, which will require the efforts of volunteer counselors, pastoral care and the medical community to support families who have received a life-threatening diagnosis for their unborn child. Training will be Friday, April 15, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at East Highland United Methodist Church. Training will cost $25 for lunch and materials. Middle School meets Sundays, 6:30–8 p.m.
High School meets Wednesdays, 6:30–8 p.m.
Oldies But Goodies Picnic—April 17
Everyone 55 and older is invited to a picnic lunch after worship on Sunday, April 17, at the Scarboroughs’ farm (1151 Hadley Rd., Pine Mountain). It will cost $12 per person for fried chicken, deviled eggs, pimento cheese—a real old-fashioned picnic! To RSVP by April 14 please e-mail Sandy Scarborough.
