Tuscaloosa Tornado Relief
CrossPointe is sending supplies to Tuscaloosa, Ala., to support the tornado relief effort. There are still two more days to bring items—Friday (9 a.m. to noon) and Sunday morning. Underwear (for men, women, and children), toiletries and cleaning supplies are especially needed in addition to sports drinks, toilet paper, canned food, can openers, baby items (diapers, food, etc.), towels, washcloths, soap, clothing, trashbags, duffel bags, etc. And if you can, please help load the truck on Monday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. We’ll be renting the largest truck in U-Haul’s inventory!
Sound Choices Events
Ladonia Baptist Church (3789 Hwy 80W in Phenix City) is hosting a shower benefitting Sound Choices’ Mommy Store tomorrow, May 14, at 2 p.m. The Clinic’s supplies of diapers, wipes, baby gear and baby bath linens are very low.
Also, give to Sound Choices by picking up a baby bottle (found in the foyer) and filling it with pocket change, cash or checks for the next five weeks. Return your filled bottle on Father’s Day! This is a great opportunity to teach children, friends and even coworkers about the value of unborn life. For more information about Sound Choices click here.
LifePointe Leader Training
If you are a CrossPointe member considering leading a LifePointe group this Fall and have not been trained before, there are three upcoming opportunities to do so: Sunday, June 5 (5–6:30 p.m.); Wednesday, June 8 (7–8:30 p.m.); Wednesday, June 15 (7–8:30 p.m.). Please e-mail Robert Ward to tell him which date you can attend.
Baptism Class
Water baptism is a symbol of the Christian’s unity with Christ in death to sin and renewed life to God. On Sunday, June 26, CrossPointe will have water baptisms during the worship service. Anyone considering baptism must attend this class on June 12 (5–6 p.m.) for a more clear explanation of baptism. Please e-mail Robert Ward if you’ll be there.
