Baptism + Adoption

  • Oct 28, 2011

Dear CrossPointe,

We’re pausing the Ephesians series for the next two weeks. As several people are baptized this Sunday, we will together celebrate the gospel that baptism signifies. I will be preaching from Matthew 28:16-20, a text showing the great privilege Jesus has given us to be on a mission, his mission of bringing the gospel to all people. Bring some friends and come ready to simply enjoy the goodness of the good news.

The following Sunday CrossPointe will participate in Orphan Sunday, a day in which we will focus on adoption, orphan care and our responsibilities as a church. Take a moment to look at our adoption and orphan care resource webpage here.

See you Sunday!

Grace and peace,

Brad

MercyMed Demolition (Oct. 29)
There will be a work project tomorrow, Oct. 29, from 7:30 a.m. through lunch to begin demolition for a new health clinic which will proclaim Christ by providing affordable quality healthcare for those who would not receive it otherwise. The demolition will take place at 3700 2nd Ave. (formerly a CB&T location in Bibb City). Teams will begin the day with prayer and continue with demolition and debris removal. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Volunteers should bring work-gloves and appropriate shoes. For more information, please .

Men’s Lunch (Nov. 1) and Ladies’ Lunch (Nov. 8)
All men and women meet at CrossPointe once a month for food, fellowship and teaching. (Chick-fil-A caters for $5 each!) Please for the Men’s Lunch on Nov. 1 at noon or for the Ladies’ Lunch on Nov. 8 at noon. And, yes, there will be childcare for moms!

Potluck Dinner (Nov. 5)
On Saturday, Nov. 5, starting at 4 p.m. CrossPointe will have a church-wide potluck dinner at the home of Daniel & Jenny Hord in Ellerslie. The barbecue will be provided, but everyone is asked to bring a side dish. Please by Oct. 29 if you’ll be there!

Orphan Sunday (Nov. 6) & Adoption/Orphan Care 101 (Nov. 13)
Sunday, Nov. 6, CrossPointe will participate in “Orphan Sunday,” a day for churches to remember God’s call to care for orphans. The following Sunday, Nov. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., we will host a local seminar on adoption and orphan care. Please by Nov. 9 if you’ll need childcare.

“One Another” Meeting (Nov. 6)
CrossPointe’s members gather every other month for fellowship and “family business.” Plan to be there on Sunday, Nov. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. As always, childcare will be provided. Non-members are also welcome to attend.

“Buddy” Ministry Meeting (Nov. 13)
CrossPointe is building a team of “buddies” for children with special needs on Sunday mornings. Ideally multiple volunteers would alternate Sundays serving the same child. A short training session (including lunch) will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, after the service. This meeting is for those with interest, regardless of experience. RSVP by .

Haiti Trip 2012
CrossPointe is returning to Haiti in early 2012 to continue construction at a children’s home, work which began with our recent visit last July. The trip will require manual labor but not expertise. Please if you have any interest in joining the team. There will be an informational meeting after the service on Sunday, Oct. 30.
