Announcements, Feb. 17, 2017

Dear CrossPointe,

One reason we are committed to working expositionally through books of the Bible is because it forces us to deal with difficult passages that we might otherwise be tempted to skip. Our text this Sunday, Romans 1:18–25, is one of those passages. In it, Paul moves from the righteousness of God in verses 16 and 17 to the wrath of God in verse 18. He then proceeds for the next few chapters to indict all of humanity for its rebellion against God.

The next few weeks will be challenging but very necessary and good for us. The glory of the Good News really makes no sense unless we understand the very bad news we’ve been saved from. So, read Romans 1:18–25 a few times before Sunday. Ask God to give us wisdom, humility, and discernment. Pray also that he would use this portion of Romans to strip us of pride and self-righteousness.

Hope to see you Sunday!

Brad
