Back in Romans this Sunday! + Weekly Announcements

Dear CrossPointe,

Happy New Year! I’m looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday as we get back into Romans! Specifically, we’ll begin to unpack chapter 7, one of the more challenging and debated chapters in the whole letter. The issue at hand is the role of the Law in the Christian life.

I know I say it often, but this is not a text that you want to hear taught on without reading it over and over for yourself. I encourage you to spend time wrestling with Romans 7 as we plod through it together in the coming weeks. It’s thick and at times a little complicated, but God has given us His Spirit and promised to help us understand. So let’s get after it!  This Sunday we’ll look specifically at Romans 7:1–6. Parenting Study (every other Mon., 6:30–8 p.m., starting Jan. 15) || Meet with other parents (or soon-to-be parents) at the Sauciers’ home to discuss raising children in light of God’s Word! Childcare is available. RSVP to Elayne Saucier with the number of adults and children coming.
 
Starting Pointe Membership Class (Jan. 27–28) || Learn more about CrossPointe and what it means to be a member! This two-part class meets on Sat., Jan. 27 (9 a.m.–noon), and Sun., Jan. 28 (5–7:30 p.m.). Childcare is provided. Sign up by e-mailing Robert Ward.
