The Folly of the City of Man + Announcements

Dear CrossPointe,

Hope you’re having a great spring break! If you missed last week, I encourage you to listen to Wayne’s excellent message on God’s covenant with Noah from Genesis 9:1-17 (click here).

This Sunday we’ll tackle a longer than usual text as we look at Genesis 9:18–11:26, a passage which shows how God repopulates the earth after the flood through Noah and his sons. Lest we think Noah is the answer to the promise from Genesis 3:15, we quickly see a second fall of mankind as Noah and his son Ham quickly make a mess of things.

But, the bulk of our time will be spent in Genesis 11:1–9 and the account of the tower of Babel. In just these few verses we see a contrast between the folly of man, shown by his efforts to build a city and name for himself, and the unexpected grace of God as he confuses and scatters mankind across the earth. Take a few minutes to read through the text before Sunday. I’m looking forward to gathering with you then!

Grace and peace,

Brad
