Helping Highland
CrossPointe's focus on missions is global and local. Among our local efforts is a strong relationship with Highland Community Church in the Bibb City area of Columbus. Because of its location, Highland has become a church of hope for the homeless population living in the same area. Many of its congregants are homeless, and so Highland has many opportunities to serve. Highland is located at 3408 5th Ave. in Columbus. For more information about Highland Community Church visit Highland's website at www.hopeforhighland.org.
As a sister church, CrossPointe assists Highland in its efforts. There are primarily three ways CrossPointe partners with Highland:
- Second Chance Resource Center: On the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers organize Highland's resource center, which supplies clothing, toiletries, and other household items to those who need them. Highland's members along with volunteers from other churches run the center on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Please e-mail Danielle Counts (danicounts123[at]gmail[dot]com) if you can help organize the center.

- Chicken and Rice Saturday: Every Saturday at 11 a.m., volunteers meet at Highland to serve chicken and rice around the area to anyone who needs it. In addition to serving food, volunteers can engage the community and pray for them. Please e-mail Reynold Counts (reynold[at]insidecrosspointe[dot]com) if you can serve.

- First Sunday Lunch: On the first Sunday of each month, a team from CrossPointe provides and serves lunch to the Highland congregation after their worship service. To join a team on the rotation, please e-mail Reynold Counts (reynold[at]insidecrosspointe[dot]com).
