Student Ministry
Relationships, Biblical Teaching, Leadership.
If it was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us...
Relationships:
Life centers on relationships. It's what brings the most meaning to our lives. Living life together is what we crave and what we thrive on. If we are honest with ourselves we would give up any of our stuff considered to be of great value for meaningful relationships. The most meaningful relationship we can have is with God himself. While God was and is big enough to speak the universe into being He is also close enough to be a friend. Psalm 139:1-24
Biblical Teaching:
I've heard it said that youth ministry is basically "pizza and yo-yo's". While I know very few "yo-yoers" I do know what they mean. Often youth ministry is seen as either glorified babysitting, or one last effort to salvage a teenager before college or the workplace. Not here. Here we believe God's word; we believe that it is living and active. Through God's word we seek to prepare students not only to withstand the world, but to impact it for the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:12
Leadership:
When we meet, the students do not just encounter a student minister, but rather a caring team of young adults that are committed to leading teenagers into a stronger relationship with Christ. We endeavor to lead students into finding their God given purposes in life. Whether it is a college student leading a small group, or a high school guy playing in the praise band; we have all been given gifts to share for the mutual building up of the church. We are not to be consumers only, showing up just to hear the Word, but doers also. Our lives find their greatest meaning when we know what God created us to do, and begin doing it! James 1:21-22
The student ministry at Crosspointe is designed to reach high school and middle school students where they are, and lead them into a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to prepare them not only to withstand the world, but to impact it for the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
