OUR VALUES

WORSHIP

We exist to worship God with our whole lives. Worship is not just something we do in a large group on Sunday, but more importantly something we live out in our daily lives. It is both public and personal. It is not just what we say, but how we live. It's not just for what God does, but for who He is. Worship is our response to all that God is with all that we are.

Romans 11:36; John 4:23-24; Psalm 145

TRUTH

In the Bible, God has given us His authoritative guide for life. We believe it is divinely inspired by God, completely true and without error. In Jesus Christ, God gave us the Word in living flesh as an example and explanation of God. In the Holy Spirit, God guides us to His truth for every aspect of life.

John 14:6; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 16:13

PRAYER

Our greatest privilege as Christians is God’s invitation into holy conversation.  God calls us to depend on Him through prayer.  As we pray, our heart is postured in expectancy of the Supernatural being unleashed in and through us.

1 Thessalonians 5:17; Jeremiah 33:3; Psalm 141:2

COMMUNITY

God created us to commune - with Him and with each other. An authentic biblical community provides an atmosphere of grace, nurturing and accountability. The Christian life is not just to be lived on Sundays in large groups sitting in rows, but also throughout the week in smaller groups gathered in circles. It is in these smaller, more intimate communities that authentic life change most often takes place.

Acts 2:42-47; Proverbs 17:17; Proverbs 27:17

ACCEPTANCE

At CrossPointe, people of all backgrounds, creeds and colors can come and find the acceptance and transforming grace of God. We're not looking to build a culture where everybody looks and sounds alike, but a place where the walls between God and man are removed and people are free to find their destiny in Him.

Colossians 3:11; Ephesians 2:19-22

TRANSFORMATION

God did not send His Son just to prepare us for death, but to teach us how to live. God's desire is not to conform us, but to transform us into the image of Jesus. Pursuing the Christ-life is at the center of all we do.

Romans 12:1; Phil 3:12-14

MISSIONAL

By "missional" we mean that God has called us to impact our culture with the gospel. Our culture and world are fallen, and we think God's primary way of redeeming it is through us - the church. We don't shrink back or run from our culture, but rather seek to engage it with the light and love of Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 3:10; Matthew 5:14-16;

2 Peter 3:9

CREATIVITY

We serve a creative God! The amazing splendor of God's creativity calls us to creative innovation. You shouldn't hear the words "we've never done it that way before" at CrossPointe! Without compromising the truth of the Message, we are willing to try new and creative ways to worship God and engage our culture with the Gospel. We were created in God’s image and likeness and thus we are compelled to lean forward and ride the crest of the wave of change!

Genesis 1:27; Isaiah 43:19

WHAT WE BELIEVE

About God - God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God.

Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19;

1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14

About Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from the dead three days later to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven's glory and will return again to earth reigning as King of King's, Lord of Lord's.

Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13

About the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with the power for living, understanding to the spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He empowers the Christian to be a witness for Christ through spiritual gifts. The Christian should seek to live under His control on a daily basis.

2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8;

1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13;

Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11

About The Bible - The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105; Proverbs 30:5

About Human Beings - People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, we are marred by and attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin." This attitude separates people from God.

Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2

About Salvation - Salvation is a gift from God to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer to forgiveness, can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6, 1:12;

Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1

About the Church - We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.

Ephesians 3:10; Ephesians 2:19-22;

1 Corinthians 12:12-13
