Preparing for Sunday + Weekly Announcements

Dear CrossPointe,

What a privilege it is to gather together every week to praise the Lord and build one another up in the faith. In the last week I’m sure we’ve all experienced the highs and lows of life in a fallen world, but there’s always Sunday and the great blessing we have of hearing from God’s Word together. Would you pray with me that the Lord would use our time together this Sunday to nourish us with the truth of Scripture?

In addition to praying, please read Proverbs 3:5–8 as you prepare for Sunday and consider inviting a neighbor who doesn’t trust the Lord. It’s my aim this week to remind us all (and to convince some) that there is no more comforting and healing posture than that of entrusting ourselves to Christ.

Sunday the Last Day to Register for VBS || Vacation Bible School is coming June 25–29, and rising K–5th-grade students are invited. To register your child, e-mail Cristin Wise.
 
VBS in Need of a Few More Volunteers || In order for us to adequately care for every child coming to VBS, we need a few more people willing to lead a group (5–6 kids) from station to station. There’s no prep or planning involved! If you’re a member willing to serve in this way, e-mail Cristin Wise for more details.

China Trip Info Meeting (Sunday, noon) || If you’re interested in traveling with our group (Oct. 4–14, 2018), please attend this quick meeting after worship on Sun., June 17. Contact Springer Cain to sign up!
 
No Ladies’ Lunch in June || We’ve canceled this month’s lunch, but join us again on the third Tuesday of July!

Children’s Ministry Training (June 24, 9 a.m.) || Serve the children and families of CrossPointe! Volunteers serve once every five weeks or so. Contact Cristin Wise to sign up!
 
Member Meeting (July 1, 6–7:30 p.m.) || Affirm new members, pray for CrossPointe, and hear missions updates! We’ll also vote to affirm Scotty Hill as our deacon of ordinances. Childcare is provided.
 
Midweek Fellowship (Wed., 5:45–7:30 p.m., July 11–Aug. 1) || Mark your calendars for our summertime MWF! Dinner starts at 5:45 p.m., followed by prayer and teaching at 6:30, and childcare is available.
 
Community Group Leader Meeting (July 15, 5–6 p.m.) || Current and prospective CG leaders, join us for a time of equipping and encouragement as we get ready for Fall small-groups! E-mail Robert Ward if you’ll be there.
 
Starting Pointe Membership Class (July 28–29) || Not a member? Come hear what we believe, how the church works, and what our mission is. The class is divided into two sessions: Sat., July 28, 9 a.m.–noon; and Sun., July 29, 5–7:30 p.m. (Childcare will be available.) Contact Robert Ward to sign up!
