Member Meeting + Sunday's Sermon
Dear CrossPointe,
This week we’ll look at Mark 8:1-21, in which Jesus miraculously feeds a huge crowd (sound familiar?). Yet, shockingly, the disciples seem remarkably dim-witted as they’ve apparently forgotten about that time just a few chapters ago when Jesus fed five thousand (Mark 6:30-44).
The temptation for us is to shake our heads in wonder at how slow the disciples must have been. But, as we’ll hopefully see, this text isn’t about just the forgetfulness of the twelve, rather, it is a picture of how hard all human hearts can be, ours included, and how grace is our only hope. Take some time to read the text over a few times before Sunday. Ask God to prepare our hearts and humble us. We’ll also receive communion together as a church family this Sunday.
Also, by way of reminder, there is a member meeting on Sunday night, 6-7:30 p.m. As always, non-members are welcome to attend, and childcare is provided.
I look forward to seeing you!
Grace and peace,
Brad
