This Sunday: “The Church, God’s Plan” + Member Meeting
What a wonderful Lord’s Day we had last week with Pastor Rapahel Kajjubi from Busega, Uganda! If you missed his message, I highly encourage you to listen to it here. It was a word fitly spoken, so full of truth, Spirit-empowered...just what we needed to hear!
This week we turn our attention to something we have been praying about and preparing for behind the scenes for a while now—a new church plant in 2018 to be led by Will Hawk. On Sunday I will preach a message outlining our overall vision for the necessity of church planting and how the local church is God’s plan for reaching the world. Our foundational text will be Ephesians 3:10 and from there we’ll be all over the New Testament. Then, the following Sunday, Will Hawk will preach a more specific message about the vision for the new church plant that will come out of CrossPointe sometime in 2018.
Finally, don’t forget about our member meeting this Sunday night. We’ve got some encouraging updates to share with you. These are exciting days to be a follower of Christ. The Lord has been so good to us at CrossPointe. Let’s lean forward together!
Grace and peace,
“One Another” Member Meeting (Nov. 5, 6–7:30 p.m.) || CrossPointe’s members gather bi-monthly to affirm new members, hear missions updates, discuss church matters, and pray. At this meeting, we’ll also vote to affirm two deacon candidates: Kwame Agyemang (outreach) & Matt Prielozny (finances).
Men’s Lunch (Nov. 7, noon) || Join us this Tuesday for food ($5 Chick-fil-A) and fellowship as one of our own teaches God’s word. RSVP to Springer Cain.
Child Dedication (Nov. 19) || If you are a member of CrossPointe who has welcomed a child into your family recently, consider participating in our upcoming child dedication as we commit to raise our children in a way that points them (and ourselves) to Christ. Please e-mail Robert Ward to sign up.
Lift Ski Retreat (Dec. 30–Jan. 2) || Join the high-school youth in Winterplace, West Virginia, as we ski, snowboard, and hang out together. To save your spot, register and pay the deposit ($100). The total cost (ski: $280; board: $300; hang: $150) is due by Dec. 15 and covers lodging, skiing, non-travel meals, and a sweatshirt. Contact Will Hawk with any questions.
