Mark 6:1-6, The Offense of Jesus
Dear CrossPointe,
What a tremendous message by Will Hawk last Sunday on Mark 5:21-43! If you missed it, I highly recommend you to listen to it here. You will be very encouraged by it!
This Sunday we move on to Mark 6:1-6 and a curious scene in which Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth. Initially, the people seem impressed with his teaching and mighty works, but the mood quickly sours as the people are offended by Jesus. There’s a notable pattern of astonishment, offense, and ultimately unbelief toward Jesus, which he himself mentions.
Take some time to read the passage a few times before Sunday and pray for God to encourage and convict us and draw unbelievers to himself. See you Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Brad
