This Sunday, Mark 5:21-43
Dear CrossPointe,
This Sunday Will Hawk will preach on Mark 5:21-43, in which Jesus shows just how ultimate his authority is—even over death itself. And yet, Mark is careful to note the exact chronology of events. Instead of rushing to save a young girl from death, Jesus stops to heal a woman hemorrhaging blood, and the girl he was asked to save in fact dies. Whenever two stories are sandwiched together like this, that usually means the writer (and ultimately the Holy Spirit) is making a point for us to see. To say the least, this is a very rich passage!
I’m really looking forward to being encouraged and challenged by the text and Will’s message Sunday. Take some time to read it a few times before Sunday and prepare your heart to hear and respond to God’s Word.
Grace and peace!
Brad
