“Adoption: The Heart of the Gospel” (Gal. 4:4-7)
Dear Tribe,
This Sunday we’ll take another detour from Ephesians to participate in Orphan Sunday, an international movement among Christian churches to consider our responsibility to care for orphans and promote a culture of adoption in our church.
This Sunday I will preach about the theology of adoption and why it is so central to the gospel. The Bible is clear that as Christians we have been adopted by God (Galatians 4:4-8, Romans 8:14-17). It is also clear that we have a responsibility to care for orphans (James 1:27). Please read Galatians 4:4-8 before Sunday, and also browse CrossPointe’s “Adoption & Orphan Care” page on our website.
Next Sunday, Nov. 13, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. we will host a round-table discussion about adoption and orphan care. We hope to present some practical information and resources for everyone considering adoption and churches like ours that want to encourage and support families considering adoption.
Grace and peace!
Brad
