“Fullness in Christ” (Eph. 1:15-23)
Dear Tribe,
The last three sermons from Ephesians have focused on its first 14 verses, a single sentence in the original Greek. Get ready for the next sentence, Ephesians 1:15-23!
Here, Paul prays that the Ephesians would see the depth and power of the Lord’s work on their behalf. Since all of it is accomplished through Christ, Paul desires that the Ephesians should live in the hope and riches of Christ’s fullness. God’s power (and Christ’s authority) are shown to be immediately relevant even to the nitty-gritty details of life.
Be sure to prepare your heart to study this text on Sunday:
- Read Ephesians 1:15-23.
- Read Colossians 1:15-20 (further expounding on Christ’s fullness).
- Read Psalm 8 (on the Lord’s dominion over all things).
- Pray that we don’t just aim for knowledge but worship and heart change.
Grace and peace!
Brad
