Dear CrossPointe,

I’m looking forward to returning to Genesis this Sunday with a look at the story of Joseph resisting the advances of Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39). In short, the example Joseph sets for us in this chapter is incredibly important to consider. We live in a world full of counterfeit carnal pleasures that seek to drag us into destruction, and we need to arm ourselves with help from God's Word.

I’m praying that this chapter will be decisive and empowering in our fight against sin, especially for men. This is not to say that women do not also fight sexual temptation, but I believe the responsibility is more heavily on men to lead in this area.

Once again, as we’ve mentioned a few times recently, the content of this chapter and sermon may not be suitable for young children. So, if you usually have your elementary-aged kids in the service, you may want to check them into children’s ministry this Sunday.

For His glory and our joy,

Brad
