Announcements, March 11, 2016

Dear CrossPointe,

Several months ago we started a journey through the Sermon on the Mount, and this Sunday we'll bring it to an end as we look at Matthew 7:24-29. I hope you've benefitted from this as much as I have. It has been challenging, encouraging, and convicting for me.

Jesus ends the sermon by contrasting two types of builders, one wise and one foolish. This illustration serves to summarize all that Jesus has taught in this sermon. The man who hears His teaching and does it is like the wise man who builds on the rock and withstands the storm. The one who hears but does not heed Jesus' words is the fool who perishes in the storm. Both men were building, but on drastically different foundations.

I'd encourage you to read the passage before Sunday. It might be helpful as well to read over the whole sermon (Matthew 5-7) in one sitting. Pray for God to open our hearts and minds. Pray that He draws unbelievers and gives them new life so that they can respond to Jesus.

Looking forward to gathering with you,

Brad
