We tend to have a narrow view of history. We think the times we are facing are surely the worst ever. But when we read the Bible, we realize that the world has been in chaos since the fall of mankind in Genesis 3. And yet God has been providentially moving human history toward his good and redemptive purpose.
This Sunday we are going to look at Psalm 2, a coronation psalm of David that points to the sovereign kingship of Jesus. In the middle of a brutal presidential campaign that has left Christians frustrated and confused, and a complex world scene that leaves us anxious about the future, I pray this psalm will give us perspective and confidence in God’s utterly good and sovereign rule over the affairs of man.
I encourage you to read Psalm 2 a few times before Sunday. Pray for God to encourage us and draw unbelievers to himself.
