Dear CrossPointe,

After our long journey through Genesis, it looks like the next book we’ll work through is 1 Thessalonians. The plan is to start that mid-June after I return from the Uganda mission trip. Until then, we’ll do a few individual messages.

This week we are going to look at John 12:42–43 and what I believe is one of the greatest obstacles in the Christian life—the fear of man. Spend a few minutes to read this short text and think about this issue in your own life. An excellent resource on this topic that we’ll have in the Resource Room is a book entitled When People Are Big and God Is Small by Ed Welch. You may want to pick up a copy this Sunday.

Kids’ Church Has Restarted! || Kids’ Church is on for 1st–3rd grades! Continue to register your child with KidCheck before the service but drop off your child in Classroom B during the service after announcements. This change will last until the end of construction in Kids’ Church/Youth.

Ladies’ Lunch (May 19, noon) || Meet in Classroom A as we study spiritual disciplines together over lunch ($5 Chick-fil-A). Childcare starts at 10 a.m. RSVP by e-mailing Nicole Carey!

Meet & Greet Sunday || Get to know CrossPointe’s pastors and Community Group leaders immediately after worship in the foyer. We’ll have snacks!

Baby Bottle Boomerang || Grab a bottle, fill it with loose change, bills, or checks, and return it on Father’s Day to help support Sound Choices pregnancy clinic. Go to the table in the foyer for more info!
