Announcements, Nov. 6, 2015

Dear CrossPointe,

This Sunday we’ll hit pause on our series through “The Sermon on the Mount” to consider the meaning, significance, and importance of baptism in the life of a Christian and in the local church. I encourage you to read Romans 6:3–4, which will serve as our primary text. And, after the message, we’ll celebrate the gospel as three members of CrossPointe are baptized. Looking forward to gathering with you!

Grace and peace,

Fall Picnic (Nov. 11, 11 a.m.) || Join us for a picnic at Flat Rock Park! We’ll provide the fried chicken and drinks, and everyone is asked to bring a side to share. (Bring yard-games, lawn-chairs, and bikes, too, if you have them!) RSVP by contacting Nicole Carey.

ADOPT(ed) (Nov. 15, 5:30–7:30 p.m.) || Orphan Sunday is around the corner, and this year CrossPointe will participate by hosting Rick Morton, author of books like Orphanology. We’ll enjoy dinner together, hear music performed by Clement Arts, and listen to Rick discuss how we can better serve the fatherless. RSVP to Nicole Carey for dinner and childcare.

Ladies’ Lunch (Nov. 17, noon) || Join us over lunch ($5, Chicken Salad Chick) in Classroom A as we discuss spiritual disciplines. Childcare begins at 10 a.m. RSVP to Nicole Carey!

Starting Pointe Membership Class (Dec. 4–6) || This class has three sessions: Gospel (Fri., 6:30–9 p.m.), Community (Sat., 9 a.m.–noon) and Mission (Sun., 6–7:30 p.m.). Childcare is provided. Contact Robert Ward to sign up!

Child Dedication (Dec. 13; Class, Dec. 6, 9 a.m.) || If you’d like to dedicate your child to the Lord during the service on Dec. 13, contact Nicole Carey. There is a prerequisite class the Sunday before at 9 a.m. in Classroom B.

Children’s Ministry Training (Dec. 13, 9 a.m.) || In order to serve in CM all volunteers must first be trained. If you’d like to serve please contact Cristin Wise. The class will be in Classroom A.

Lift Ski Retreat (Dec. 31–Jan. 3) || This year we’re returning to Winterplace, W.V., for two full days of skiing. The total cost to ski is $275 (+$25 to snowboard), and if you just want to hang out it’s only $150. This includes all meals (except lunches on the road and snacks) and a t-shirt! To reserve your seat on the bus, register and pay the $100 deposit online (due Nov. 29).
