Announcements, Oct. 28, 2016
Our text this Sunday, 1 Timothy 5:17–25, contains Paul’s instructions to Timothy about honoring leaders while keeping them accountable. There is a beautiful gospel-balance in Paul’s words: leaders are to be respected, but they are in no way above anyone else. In fact, they are to be held to a stricter standard in many ways. And, because the mission of the church is the mission of every Christian, it is our collective responsibility to live together in this mutually accountable way as we move ever closer to that day when we will all stand before Christ.
Nothing could be more important than our mutual gospel-ministry together as Christians in a local church. Take some time to read this text before Sunday. Looking forward to seeing you!
