This Sunday: “Elders and Their Duties”
Last Sunday, one of our elders, Doug Duncan, informed the church about my upcoming sabbatical starting early November through the end of December. The Lord has been so good to us as a church these past thirteen years! However, it has become evident that I need to develop healthier rhythms of rest and renewal from the grind of pastoral ministry that will help me endure for the long haul. To that end, the other elders have encouraged me to take this two month sabbatical to unplug and recharge. I’m so grateful for their care for me!
The elders will send out a more detailed explanation of what my sabbatical will mean for CrossPointe later. In the meantime, Reuben Moyana, another one of our elders, will be preaching this Sunday on 1 Peter 5 about the church, elders, and shepherding. I think this will be an important and encouraging word for us as a church, and I’m looking forward to gathering with you all!
