This Sunday: “Liberty, Conscience, and Love”
If you missed Tyler’s message last Sunday on 1 Peter 2, I encourage you to listen to it here. It was an excellent, pastoral, and timely word.
This Sunday we pick back up in Romans as we begin chapter 14. The issue at hand in Romans 14 is the difference of opinions between “strong” and “weak” Christians about whether they can eat certain foods or worship on certain days. These may seem like minor and antiquated points of dispute, but the principles Paul applies are incredibly important for us today.
The gospel has freed us to walk in liberty, but how we use that freedom and love our brothers and sisters will either commend or detract from the witness of the gospel. In short, issues of Christian conscience are critical to the gospel culture of a church. I’m really looking forward to working through this chapter with you. This Sunday will be more of an introduction to the chapter, but I’d encourage you to read all of Romans 14:1–15:7 several times in the coming weeks.
See you Sunday!
