The Founder of Our Salvation
This Sunday we’ll dig into Hebrews 2:10–18, one of my favorite parts of the letter. The things it says about Jesus are breathtaking. He’s the founder of our salvation. He had to be made perfect through suffering. He’s not ashamed to call us brothers and sisters! He shares in our flesh and blood. He delivers us from the fear of death and lifelong slavery. He was made like us in every respect so he could be our merciful priest and propitiation. And he had to suffer and be tempted so he can help us in our temptation. C’mon, somebody!
I’m not sure how far we’ll get into this glorious passage, but we’ll give it a go.
Also, since we had a baptism and missionary guest last week, we pushed communion to this Sunday. Let’s prepare our hearts for the Word and the Lord’s Supper.
See you Sunday!
