This Sunday: Defilement, Passivity, Deception and Revenge
Remember to “Spring” forward one hour on Saturday night!
Dear CrossPointe,
This Sunday we’ll look at Genesis 34 and consider one of the worst scenes in the Bible—the rape of Jacob’s daughter, Dinah, and the vengeance of her brothers. It’s a sad and dark chapter, to put it bluntly. Take some time to read through it several times and consider what the Holy Spirit wants to teach us from this challenging text.
As always, children are welcome in the service, but, given the sensitive nature of this text, if you have elementary-aged children I’d recommend that you check them into their respective Children’s Ministry rooms this Sunday. In fact, if you’re the parent of a middle-school student and think they might not be ready for the content of this chapter, they are welcome to help in Kids’ Church (1st–5th grades) as well.
Grace and peace,
Brad
