It seems like Jesus’ first attempt to give sight to a blind man doesn’t quite get the job done, so he tries again and gets it right the second time. If nothing else, Mark has established that Jesus has all power and authority over sickness, sin, storms and demons. So what is going on in this unusual healing? This healing account doubles as a parable displaying the extent of human spiritual blindness and that Christ’s work in our lives is not just a one-time hit but a gradual process.
