What Happens When the Blind See

Dear Church,

John 9 is about much more than a blind man seeing physically for the first time. It’s a picture of what happens when the spiritually blind are given spiritual eyes to see and follow Jesus. It’s ultimately a picture of salvation, but it’s also full of irony and even a little humor. There is a twist: the ones who are confident that they “see” are actually blind, while the humble blind beggar is the one who ends us truly “seeing.” He turns into quite the fearless evangelist as well!

I told you last week this is one of my favorite chapters in the whole Bible! I'm looking forward to working through the rest of it with you this Sunday.
