This Sunday: Jesus Our Priest

Dear CrossPointe,

The Old Testament is filled with examples of men who imperfectly served God’s people as prophet, priest, or king (sometimes maybe in two of those roles), but Christ perfectly fulfills all three. Last week, we kicked off our series on these “offices” of Christ with a look at how Jesus is the truer and greater Prophet. Do yourself a favor and listen to Tyler’s sermon here. This week, we continue our series by considering how Jesus is the truer and greater Priest.

On Sunday, we’ll also have the privilege of seeing a brother baptized! So, come ready to hear from the Lord as we worship together. This Sunday (like every Sunday) would be a good week to invite a friend or neighbor as well.

Drop and Shop (Dec. 15, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.) || Run errands while we watch your kids (4 years–5th grade)! We’ll have lunch and plenty of fun activities to enjoy together. Consider donating a gift to Highland Church’s Christmas store (see below). RSVP online.

No Children’s Ministry (Dec. 23 & 30) || Bring your children into the sanctuary as we worship the Lord together!
 
Christmas Eve Service (Dec. 24, 5:30 p.m.) || CrossPointe and Mid Tree Church will gather to celebrate the birth of Christ through Scripture and song. Children can wear their pj’s, and we’ll have cider and cookies, too!
 
Youth Winter Retreat (Dec. 29–Jan. 1) || Ski ($290), snowboard ($300), or just hang out ($150) with us in Winterplace, W. Va. Payment is due Dec. 15. Register online or contact Tyler Kirkpatrick if you have any questions or would like to sponsor a student.

Women’s Study: Wisdom Books (Tues., 10–11:30 a.m., Jan. 8–Mar. 5) || We’ll study the Psalms and Wisdom books using Nancy Guthrie’s The Wisdom of God (in the Resource Room). Sherry Duncan and Elayne Saucier will lead, and childcare will be available. RSVP to Elayne.
