Faith Looks Forward

Dear CrossPointe,

Hebrews 1–10 gives us reason after reason to have faith in the supremacy of Christ. Hebrews 11 then gives us example after example of those who have gone before and demonstrated this faith. Our text this week, Hebrews 11:8–22, zooms in on Abraham and his family. Despite many reasons to doubt, they persevered, looked forward by faith, and trusted God. They were a family that obeyed on earth as they longed for heaven. They lived out a tension that we are called to as well. This is a soul-anchoring, grip-strengthening text. I’m looking forward to thinking deeply about this passage on Sunday and to seeing two new members baptized. Pray with me that the Lord does wonderful things among us.
