Life as a Disciple of Jesus
Dear CrossPointe,
In Mark 3:7-19, Jesus begins forming a new community. Up to now we’ve seen Jesus’ power and authority demonstrated, but now Jesus begins gathering disciples, teaching and sending them out to imitate him—calling people to repentance, healing, casting out demons, etc.
We see that Jesus’ ministry is not just about the individual’s salvation and accompanying miracles but a new community of people giving their lives to serve the King. This week, we’ll wrestle with the implications of following Jesus and being sent by him.
Until then, take some time to read Mark 3:7-19 a few times before Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Brad
