Looking to Jesus

Dear CrossPointe,

I trust Hebrews 11 was as helpful to you as it was to me. It contains so much encouragement to hold fast to Jesus by faith. This Sunday we’re in one of the high points of the letter, Hebrews 12:1–3. It’s an exhortation that stands on the foundation of the examples of faith from Hebrews 11. The preacher is summarizing his sermon in these verses. His main point: you have all these great examples, so lay aside any hindrance and persevere in the race as you look to Jesus who has done all that is needed to bring you to the finish line. 

We’ll also come to the Lord’s table together on this first Sunday of February. Let’s prepare our hearts and minds to feast on Christ and His Word.
