Once You Were Not, But Now You Are

Dear CrossPointe,

Our text this week, 1 Peter 2:1-12, is one of the mountain-peaks of this letter. In these verses, Peter paints a beautiful picture. To be a Christian is to be chosen by God, placed among the people of God, in order to proclaim God.

We use the words gospel, community and mission a lot at CrossPointe, and here we find a passage that weaves all three together. God has called us out of darkness and into his marvelous light with the gospel. He has made us part of the community that is his people. And together we are called to proclaim his excellencies, to live on mission.

I’m looking forward to this Sunday and can’t wait to dig deeper into these foundational truths!
