The Gospel and Homosexuality
Dear CrossPointe,
This Sunday we’ll take a break from Mark to look at what is currently one of the most explosive and hotly debated cultural issues--homosexuality. In this message, my aim is help us see clearly what the Bible says about homosexuality, the hope it holds out for those struggling with same-sex attraction, and how we as the church should think about and engage this issue with boldness and grace.
I suspect that for each of us this is not just a political or cultural issue but a personal one. Each of us have friends, family, or at the very least acquaintances that would identify themselves as homosexual. And, certainly some in our congregation are themselves struggling with same-sex attraction, fighting to take God’s side against their sin.
So would you pray with me about this Sunday? Pray that God would give us clarity, broken-hearted boldness and love. Pray that CrossPointe would be a place where the gospel is held up not as a cold doctrine but as the only hope for sinners.
Grace and peace,
Brad
