This Sunday: James 1:18-21

I trust you all had a blessed Thanksgiving! If you were out of town last Sunday, be sure to take some time to listen to Tyler’s excellent message on David and Goliath from 1 Samuel 17. It was superb! 

This Sunday we pick back up with James 1:18–21 and consider the power and ministry of God’s Word. These short verses are packed with truth and practical implications for the Christian life. I’ve been staring at this text all week and it is absolutely loaded. In just a few sentences it touches on several important truths—how we are born again, the progressive nature of redemption, an examination of anger, and the power of God’s word to sanctify us.

I really don’t know what else to do other than roll up our sleeves and dig into this feast! Read it a few times before Sunday. Don’t come in cold. Prime the pump. Pray for God to speak to us and change us.
