“Life Is a Mist”
It’s remarkable how easy it can be to forget the gospel and the bigness of God and live like we are the center of the universe and in charge of things. Of course, we know the opposite is true—but how easy it is to forget!
In our text this week, James 4:13–17, is a reminder that we are small, life is short, and God is in total control. This is such an important word for people like us living in an age of convenience prone to following the false gods of self-determination and control.
We’ll also have the great privilege of witnessing the baptism of two brothers in the church. Praise God! What a joy to hear testimonies of God’s grace during baptisms.
Finally, please pray for me this upcoming week. This Monday, I will be traveling to Johannesburg, South Africa, to speak at Brackenhurst Baptist Church. The pastor there, Doug Van Meter, preached at CrossPointe several years ago and has become a friend. Also, this is the home and sending church of our dear friends, Gareth and Keri Franks, who were missionaries in India and now live and minister in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Please pray that my time and ministry there will encourage and edify the saints.
I’m so thankful for you, CrossPointe, and I’m looking forward to seeing you this Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Brad
