“We Need One Another”

Hebrews 1024–25

CrossPointe,

A few weeks ago at our member meeting, I mentioned that this Sunday, May 2, we will begin a gradual return to normal in our worship services. Be sure to watch the video below for more details on what that will look like.

It’s worth saying here that there is much more to this than just social distancing! As we proceed in the coming days, I want to urge us as a church to lean forward into life together. For example, we hope to resume regular Children’s Ministry as soon as possible, but this means we need our member volunteers to be willing to serve again. In addition, we want to see Midweek Fellowship, men’s and women’s Bible studies, and various fellowship opportunities become regular again. But this won’t just magically happen. It takes us as a church intentionally considering how we can serve and love and encourage one another.

To that end, this Sunday we’ll take a break from our study of John to look at Hebrews 10:19–25. This beautiful passage is so clear and helpful in articulating our responsibility to one another as believers together in a local church. In short, we need one another, maybe now more than ever.

We’ll also receive the Lord’s Supper together on this first Sunday of May. Let’s prepare our hearts for the Table. (Here’s a really helpful communion exhortation from the Book of Common Prayer that I encourage you to read as well!)

See you this Sunday!

Brad
