This Sunday: Mark 14:53-72

This Sunday Will Hawk will be preaching on Mark 14:53-72, in which we see Jesus before the council followed by Peter’s denial. It is a stark and vivid scene as Jesus endures the false witness of the religious leaders and the desertion of one of his closest friends. Be sure to read the text a few times before Sunday to prepare your heart.

We’ll spend just four more Sundays in Mark looking at the crucifixion and resurrection, and after that we will start 1 Peter. I love this letter for so many reasons, not the least of which is that it is written by a man who (as we'll read this week) failed miserably, yet was the recipient of spectacular grace!
