Unity as Evangelism

Dear Church,
This Sunday we come to the final section of Jesus’ high priestly prayer, John 17:20–26. In it, Jesus expands his prayer to include all that will believe in him and he prays for their unity. But the ultimate point is not unity itself, but that because of this unity, the world may believe in him.
So, in other words, Jesus is praying for the unity of the church to be an evangelistic witness to the on-looking world. That means that our unity as a local church is incredibly important. We’re going to dig into this thought this Sunday.
See you soon,
Brad
