An Unlikely Convert
Dear CrossPointe,
If you’re like me, then the holidays are a special time of the year! Typically, it signals more time with family and lots of delicious food¬—both of which I love. This time of year can be joyous for so many reasons, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t also be difficult. I’m sure each of us can picture one or more loved ones that we wish would believe the gospel, and yet, up to this point they simply have not, maybe even in spite of our best efforts to share the gospel.
That’s why this Sunday I want to spend our time together being encouraged and reminded by Scripture that the power of salvation will only ever rest in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our passage, Acts 16:25–34, serves as a beautiful picture of the way in which the gospel goes forth and how God saves even the most unlikely of sinners. As we continue into the holiday season, take heart, because God is “gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.”
See you on Sunday!
